Safety and health representatives - introductory

Update of the skills of Safety and Health Representatives (SHRs) to effectively promote safety in the workplace and carry out responsibilities outlined in the relevant legislation.

Who Should Attend

Existing SHRs wanting to update their knowledge and skills on the latest safety legislation.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:
Completion of Safety and Health Representatives (Introductory) course (SFTSHR)

NOTE: you will be required to produce your licence or photo identification to the training provider on the day of training.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

An understanding recent legislative amendments and how to apply them in the workplace
Be able to communicate information on safety and health issues
Represent employees in matters of safety and health
Be able to resolve conflict and issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) in their role as a SHR

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

PTS training room standards apply:

smart casual attire (no shorts)
enclosed footwear

Note:* Power Training Services does not provide PPE, PPC and tools for training courses.

Assessments

There are no formal assessments or written tests.
Participants will be expected to take part in activities and demonstrate key skills and knowledge throughout the course.
