Safety and health representatives - introductory
A WorkSafe WA accredited course providing the knowledge and skills to carry out the functions and responsibilities of an elected Safety and Health Representative (SHR).

Who Should Attend
Elected Safety and Health Representatives, individuals who want to understand the role of SHRs and those seeking a learning pathway towards a nationally recognised Certificate III Work, Health and Safety qualification.
Prerequisites
Sufficient numeracy and literacy skills are needed to read and comprehend instructions for:
- referencing and understanding legislation, standards and codes of practice
- consulting with workers and employers on safety issues
NOTE: you will be required to produce your licence or photo identification to the training provider on the day of training.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- Apply knowledge of legislation in the role of a SHR or an employee
- Conduct workplace inspections and investigations
- Communicate information on safety and health matters
- Effectively represent employees on safety and health issues
- Resolve conflict and issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs)
- Identify hazards and apply risk management processes

PTS training room standards apply:
- smart casual attire (no shorts)
- enclosed footwear
