Implement Operational Plan

Provides the skills, knowledge and attitude to manage the operations of a team to address client needs and achieve organisational goals.

This course addresses one unit from the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

Course Duration

2 days (plus 1 day Assessment Support Workshop – optional)

Who Should Attend

Formal leaders who are required to manage the day-to-day operations of a team to meet client needs and achieve operational goals.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites, however:

  • a reasonable level of reading and writing ability is required, as well as basic computer skills.
  • complete the assessment component of this course, you will need to be working in an organisation where you have responsibility for leading a team to achieve operational goals, including planning
resource acquisition and use.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

  • Implement operational plans within an organisation
  • Implement resource acquisition within an organisation
  • Monitor operational performance of a team

Assessments

Written and practical assessments, consisting of:

  • Assessment questions and activities to be completed during the course
  • Post-course assessment activities based around:
    • recruiting and inducting a new team member
    • acquiring physical resources to meet operational needs
    • planning the operations of a team (including identification of KPIs and resource requirements)
    • monitoring and reviewing a team’s operations

You will have 4 months to complete your assessment after attendance at the course.

Before attending the workshop, you are encouraged to think about the following:

  1. What is the purpose of your team and who are your team’s customers (internal and external)?
  2. What are the outputs of your team?
  3. How are your team’s operations planned and what tools are used to support this planning?
  4. What inputs (resources) are required by your team and how are these acquired?
  5. How are your team’s outputs / operations monitored and reported on?
