Tester in charge authority renewal

Online assessment to confirm that you demonstrate the necessary competencies of a Tester in Charge (NA4D or NA4T).

Who Should Complete

People who are required to renew their Tester in Charge (NA4D or NA4T) authorisation. This renewal is required every two years

NOTE: If you wish to REFRESH your knowledge of Tester in Charge requirements, you should enrol in the Tester in Charge Refresher course instead of this assessment.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:

  • Network Authority Card (NAC)
  • NA4D or NA4T authorisation
  • one of the following qualifications is essential:
    • Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead qualification or
    • Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Cable Jointing qualification or
    • Western Australian electrician’s licence or
    • post-trade electrical qualification.

Note: All prerequisites need to be current.

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

  • A computer with access to the internet
  • Electrical Systems Safety Rules (ESSR)
  • Work Practice Manual (for contractors) or Depot Pack (Western Power staff)
  • Transmission Substation Work Practice Manual (for contractors) or Depot Pack (Western Power staff)
  • SOP 145 Work Permit Instructions

Assessment

You must attempt the assessment within the allocated time and cannot return to it if interrupted.
The assessment pass mark is 100%
A pass will result in the renewal of your authorisation. Failure to achieve 100% will result in the suspension of your authorisation.
