Hazard Identification and Risk Management

This module has been developed under the Safety Leadership Program and is designed to assist leaders understand their obligations pertaining to physical hazard identification, risk assessment and reduction, and develop their ability to lead and engage others thereof.

Who Should Attend
Core module under the Safety Leadership Program and is mandatory for permanent Western Power employees. Specifically, Team Coordinators, Field Supervisors, Team Leaders and Area Managers. May also be relevant to emerging leaders.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a safety leader
- Be able to identify hazards and assess associated risks
- Understand the importance of reducing and controlling risk
- Be able to apply the Western Power SHE risk management process methodologies and tools in work areas relevant to the participant
PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements
PTS training room standards:
- long-sleeved shirt and long pants
- safety boots
- high visibility vest
- safety glasses
- hard hat
- A practical activity will be held in the training yard so will require correct PPE
Note: Power Training Services does not provide PPE, PPC and tools for training courses.
Assessments
There are no formal assessments or written tests.
Certification
There is no certification.
