SPS Familiarisation

The course is designed to obtain the fundamental understanding of the SPS systems and their components as a source of renewable supply.

This training has been developed as a joint initiative between Power Training Services and North Metro TAFE. The training will be held at TAFE’s renewable energy facility which has been designed to replicate the components of an SPS.

Who Should Attend

Any Western Power people who require an understanding of SPS.

Prerequisites

Approval from Formal Leader is required before enrolling for this course

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

  • identifying the components associated with a typical SPS
  • understanding how components of the SPS is affected by nature
  • demonstrating how the components of a SPS connect to form a Standalone system
  • understanding how electrical installations effect SPS performance

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

PTSWA training room standards apply:

  • smart casual attire (no shorts)
  • enclosed footwear

Assessments

Written and practical assessments are included in the course.
Participants will need to demonstrate the required knowledge and the necessary practical skills in line with the learning outcomes
