Data Modelling for Qlik Sense

A technical course in developing a coherent data model in Qlik Sense by loading and transforming multiple data sources.
This course includes information, techniques and exercises relating to data connections, cleansing and transforming source data, resolving data model issues, optimisation for performance, using QlikView Data Files (QVD) files and application development on Qlik Sense server.

  • Creating a data model in Qlik Sense
  • Using the data load editor and the data manager
  • Create and maintaining data connections, including DataMarket
  • Resolving data structure issues and script errors
  • Transforming data for better performance
  • Discussing synthetic keys and circular references
  • Adding dimensions and measures to the master library
  • Adding simple visualisations with Qlik Sense

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:

  • Database and SQL query knowledge
  • Completion of PTS914 – Creating Visualisations with Qlik Sense

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

  • Internet connection – Google Chrome recommended
  • Zoom – so you can join the virtual classroom/training session
  • Qlik training user profile – instructions emailed to you from the trainer prior to your training start date

  • Students will be contacted by the training provider (Qlik) prior to the start date of training with information on how to access the virtual training classroom.
  • On the first day of training, all students will be required to join the virtual classroom 15 minutes early to test your system set up and access. The trainer will be available at this time to help with any technical issues before the class starts.
