Perform EWP controlled descent escape - recognition of current competency

This assessment will assess participants' competency in performing elevated work platform (EWP) controlled descent escape procedures in the workplace.

Who Should Attend

This is the annual refresher for workers who hold the EWP Controlled Descent Escape authorisation.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:

  • Network Authority Card (NAC)
  • High risk workers licence for operation of EWP
  • UETTDRRF08 – Perform EWP controlled descent escape (PTS839)
  • HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Note: All prerequisites need to be current.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

  • Prepare to perform EWP controlled descent escape
  • Carry out EWP controlled descent escape
  • Complete the EWP controlled descent escape procedure

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

  • PPE Level 1
  • Fall arrest harness
  • Energy absorber lanyard
  • If undertaking this assessment at a depot, the student must provide their own EWP
