Who Should Attend
People who are required to provide first aid.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:
- your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI please apply for one via the USI website.
Note: All prerequisites need to be current.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
- Evaluate the incident and own performance
PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements
PTS training room standards apply:
- smart casual attire (no shorts)
- enclosed footwear
- you will be required to show photo ID to the trainer at the start of the training day
Assessments
Assessments are included in this course.
- As part of these units of competency you will be required to perform 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin (placed on the floor) and 4 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an infant manikin (placed on a firm surface).
- When deemed competent a statement of attainment will be awarded.
