This one day training course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to access and isolate secondary equipment associated with both primary and secondary electrical systems.

Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for people who are required to carry out unrestricted secondary system isolations for routine type work and are seeking the recognised authorisation.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:
- Network authority card (NAC)
- Western Australian electricians licence (preferred)
- Protection system basics for electricians course (preferred)
- Restricted secondary system isolations course (preferred) plus
- Recipient in charge for work permits (NA3T/D) and/or
- Tester in charge (NA4T/D)
Note: All prerequisites need to be current.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- Identify isolation points
- Interpret wire markings
- Interpret complex protection schemes
- Access current differential type protection schemes
- Access metering and protection secondary system voltage schemes
- Manipulate in-service complicated protection schemes
- Correctly use and complete key document (secondary isolation schedule)
- Use barriers, lock-out tags(etc.) in accordance with processes
- Use effective cross-checking techniques
PPC/PPE & Equipment Requirements
PTSWA training room standards apply:
- smart casual attire (no shorts)
- enclosed footwear

Assessments
Written and practical assessments are included in the course.
Participants will need to demonstrate the required knowledge and the necessary practical skills in line with the learning outcomes.
Participants will be required to complete an on-the-job workbook. This workbook includes a number of written and practical assignments.
The assignments must be completed and submitted to Power Training Services WA.
Participants will not be considered to have completed the course until all on-the-job assignments have been successfully completed.
Certification
Certificate of Completion once on the job workbook as been assessed as satisfactory
