Restricted secondary system isolations

This one day training course provides participants with the knowledge and skills for persons required to perform secondary system isolations at a restricted level.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for people who are required to gain ZSSIR authorisation to perform secondary system isolations at a restricted level.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for attendance at this course are:

• Network Authority Card (NAC)
• Western Australian Electrician’s Licence
• Protection system basics for electricians course
• Recipient in Charge for Work Permits (NA3T/D) course and/or
• Tester in Charge (NA4T/D) course

Note: All prerequisites need to be current.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:

• Identify isolation points
• Interpret wire markings
• Interpret schematic diagrams
• Correctly use and complete key document (secondary isolation schedule)
• Use barriers, lock-out tags (etc.) in accordance with processes
• Use effective cross-checking techniques

PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements

PTSWA training room standards apply:

• smart casual attire (no shorts)
• enclosed footwear

Assessments

Written and practical assessments are included in the course.
Participants will need to demonstrate the required knowledge and the necessary practical skills in line with the learning outcomes.
Participants will be required to complete an on-the-job workbook. This workbook includes a number of written and practical assignments.
The assignments must be completed and submitted to Power Training Services WA.
Participants will not be considered to have completed the course until all on-the-job assignments have been successfully completed.

Certificate of Attendance
Certificate of Completion once on the job workbook has been completed and mark as satisfactory
