This will provide you with information about the Western Power Network and some of the key equipment used to ensure safe and efficient provision of electricity.

People who require a general overview of Western Power’s Network, structures and equipment.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this training course participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of Western Power’s Network
- Identify and demonstrate an understanding of key network structures and equipment
- Demonstrate an understanding of ‘basic’ electrical terms used in the electrical supply industry
PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements
PPE Level 0 including:
- long-sleeved shirt and long trousers
- enclosed, flat footwear (must provide full protection of foot, ie not sneaker or canvas shoes)
- high visibility vest, eye protection & hard hat

Practical component of this training will take place at an operational substation – travel to the substation is required (approx. 10 minute drive). If you do not have your own transport, please advise your trainer on the day so that alternative transport can be arranged.
