This one day course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to undertake the responsibilities of Recipient in Charge (RIC) to receive Vicinity Authority permits.

Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for existing recipients within the Western Power permit to work system who require Recipient in Charge (RIC) to receive Vicinity Authority permits.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for attendance at this training course are:
- Network authority card (NAC)
Note: All prerequisites need to be current.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- Use Western Power’s permit to work procedures
- Identify the responsibilities of the RIC in relation to Vicinity Authority permits
- Apply effective hazard and risk control measures e.g. identify safe working clearance requirements
PPE/PPC & Equipment Requirements
PTSWA training room standards apply:
- smart casual attire (no shorts)
- enclosed footwear
Assessments
Written and practical assessments are included in the course.
Participants will need to demonstrate the required knowledge and the necessary practical skills in line with the learning outcomes.
Participants will be required to complete an on-the-job workbook. This workbook includes a number of written and practical assignments.
The assignments must be completed and submitted to Power Training Services WA within six months of completing the course.
Participants will not be considered to have completed the course until all on-the-job assignments have been successfully completed.
