(HR) XY+XX=DD – Genes in the workplace

This workshop uses the rise of the famous Levi Straus Blue Jean, model XX, to unpack the complexities of the Diversity Dividend in the Workplace.
Participants are encouraged to explore the evolution of gender equality within society and in their own workplace experiences, and to interact with others in the course to understand the benefits of the Diversity Dividend in increasing efficiencies and improving the Employee Experience.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this course participants should be able to:
- A clear distinction between Equity and Equality
- To be able to identify gender and the many ways gender equality manifests itself in our lives
- A broader understanding of the Diversity Dividend across social and economic spheres
- A better context of what Political Correctness really means to quotas and "box-ticking"
- Ways to better assimilate gender diversity into teams and projects
- The outcomes of the Diversity Dividend for our customers and our fellow employees
- An overview of the WA EEO 1984 Act
- A history of Western Power’s involvement in EEO and gender-diverse employment.

REGIONAL DEPOT SESSIONS We are in the process of scheduling and finalising dates – in the interim if your depot is not listed please add your name to the waitlist for this course and we will contact you once dates and locations have been confirmed.
Please note There will be no catering provided for any of these sessions. You can bring your own food and refreshments to any session, there are kitchen facilities at all sites.
For those attending sessions at Perth office food and refreshments can be purchased from the Mercato Cafe.
For those attending a session at Prinsep Road, Jandakot depot you will be able to purchase food and coffee from vans that attend the site.

The cost of this course is met through your Function’s D+I training budget.
• If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking through OnCourse within 7 working days to avoid your HoF receiving notification of the course cost.
• Approval from your formal leader is required before your booking can be confirmed. Please send the approval email to inclusion@westernpower.com.au
• If the minimum class number is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled.
• Participants will be notified asap and offered an alternative date.
